About KRU Wheels

KRU is a new brand of wheels and components founded by a group of italians, particularly a former lead engineer from Deda Elementi.

Their first products include a large range of carbon wheels, clinchers and tubulars, characterised by interesting technological innovations.

ZERO MAINTENANCE HUB
The hub, entirely engineered and designed by KRU offers performance comparable to that of ceramic hubs while also maintaining exceptional durability. It is in fact guaranteed to be maintenance free for 200,000 kilometers. Their patent “Enhanced Bearing Performance” avoids bearings compression and slower rolling of the wheel in case of excessive tightening of the quick release skewer. The wheels are also customisable with stickers and coloured caps.

MOUNTAIN-PROOF RIMS
The rims are characterised by a special material, the “Vapor Grown Carbon Fiber”. This substance, which originates from the aerospace industry, makes the compound thermally conductive so that heat generated while braking quickly dissipates on the entire surface of the wheel. Consequently, KRU Wheels reach temperatures that are 30% lower and can resist descents that are twice as long as competitors’ products. This makes KRU wheels dolomites-proof.

EXCEPTIONAL DURABILITY
To further improve the durability of their products, KRU has developed numerous technologies in order to maximize the ability of their wheels to withstand wear and use.
“SELF ADJUSTING SPOKES” is a technology that allows the perfect alignment of the spokes from the flange to the rim, making the wheels more resistant to heavy loads and limiting the risk of rupture of the spokes.
“SEAMLESS LAMINATE CONSTRUCTION” improves the lamination process of the wheel by making sure that continuous material is used as much as possible instead of applying traditional methodologies where different pieces of carbon are joined or glued together. This limits the risk of cracking and breaking and the resulting product is solid and free from weak points.
